KARACHI: Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh of the Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) has on Thursday joined Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), ARY News reported.

Shaikh, a former bureaucrat and a key member of Late Jam Sadiq Ali administration in Sindh, was elected to the Sindh Assembly from PS-11 seat in Shikarpur on a PML-F ticket and was serving as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister. However, he had not yet resigned from the seat he won as the PML-F candidate.

He met PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari in London and joined the party. The PPP leadership and workers have welcomed him on joining PPP.

The move was already being anticipated as his brother Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh has already joined the PPP ranks.
