PML-N begins ‘dissident-hunting’ mission within ranks

Sources told that at least 25 N-league members showed their dissent to the party by voting to rival candidates in Senate polls on Thursday.

In Punjab, PPP leader Nadeem Afzal Chan bagged 28 votes despite having support of only 20 lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly. After the result, veritable surprise was witnessed in PML-N ranks owing to dissidents.

According to sources, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked his provincial administration to trace those 25 dissident MPAs who betrayed the party. He tasked his personal secretary to furnish complete details including mobile phone data and call records of those party members within seven days.

It is learnt that names of those 25 betraying party members have been sent to Mr. Shahbaz.

While party is suspecting some female lawmakers and MPAs from Sargodha who could probably be rebels within the party.
