PML-N senator terms General Sharif’s tenure as ‘golden era’

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said that the tenure of General Raheel Sharif as the army chief was golden era and Pakistan Army will maintain the continuity of his policies, ARY News reported on Sunday.

Speaking to media at the residence of deceased Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Jahangir Badar, Khan said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were launched in General Sharif’s tenure whereas significant efforts for peace in Karachi were made.

“We hope that Pakistan Army maintains the continuity of his anti-terrorism policies,” the senator said.

The PML-N leader said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has the constitutional responsibility of appointing the heads of the armed forces.

He claimed that PPP is a mature political party and dialogues can held with them over resolving national crisis.

Earlier, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Professor Ahmad Khan Sherani and Mushahidullah Khan met Ali Badar at his residence in Lahore and offered condolence on the death of his father.
