PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz has on Wednesday submitted a motion in the Khyber Pakthunkhwa assembly against Speaker Asad Qaisar.

The motion states that the speaker has lost his impartiality after participating in the lockdown of Islamabad by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Therefore, it was imperative that he should resign from his position.

It also states that the Speaker did not take the assembly into confidence before submitting a writ petition in the high court against the western route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

As a result, he had lost his neutrality after taking part in the political activities of the PTI.  Asad Qaisar was unanimously elected as Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in 2013.
