According to details, police raided the area and took into custody the suspect named Arshad on the basis of information provided by intelligence agencies. Initial interrogation of the suspect revealed that he had been working for the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and had been in contact with his accomplices via the internet.
Important documents including an Indian passport had been recovered from the suspected RAW agent. Police have shifted the suspect to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
Security agencies will most likely grill the suspect and check details pertaining to his nationality. Also, details are being sought regarding which activities he had been involved in since he had been in Karachi since a long time.
A couple of months earlier, another RAW agent had been arrested from Balochistan named Kalbhushan Yadav. The suspected RAW agent had admitted to carrying out subversive activities in Balochistan and destabilizing Pakistan. Kalbhushan had been exposed in a live press conference which had been conducted by DG ISPR Asim Bajwa.
India had denied Pakistan’s claims that Kalbhushan was carrying out subversive activities in Pakistan at the behest of RAW and had demanded consular access to Kalbhushan Yadav.
