According to details, estranged Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza was present inside the court along with his wife Fehmida Mirza and a large number of reporters and cameramen were present outside, when the incident occurred.
Masked personnel of the Special Security Unit (SSU) baton-charged the journalists brutally, injuring ARY News cameraman Noman Sheikh among several others.
ARY News’ correspondent Kamil Arif informed that Police has assigned with the task to arrest Zulfiqar Mirza adding that his guards have been shifted to unidentified location after taking them into custody.
Sindh High Court (SHC) has taken the notice of the incident and sought a report from DIG South in this regard.
