Police capture stolen antique items, arrest two

PESHAWAR: The police foiled a bid to smuggle a consignment of stolen antique items date back to 700 years, ARY News reported on Monday.

Peshawar police arrested two men with hundreds of years old household and other precious items.

The personnel of Reggi police station captured large quantity of antique items during search of a car at a check point on Sunday night.

The antique items stolen from various parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan were destined to smuggle to Dubai, Qatar and other Gulf states, police sources said.

Police has informed the Archeology Department and registered a case against the accused under the antiquity act, sources said.
