Police claims progress in Karachi army police attack investigations

DIG Police Dr Jameel Ahmed has claimed that the police investigations have reached near to the culprits who killed two military police personnel at busy M.A. Jinnah Road in broad daylight on yesterday.

The DIG informed the media that the police has recorded the statements of the witnesses and banned militant groups and militant wings of political parties could be involved in attacks.

DIG South said that the police and rangers have detained a number of suspects in a joint crackdown in Karachi.

The law enforcement agencies also investigating about the escape route of the culprits, he added.

The official informed the media that the police department has asked for replacement of the outdated surveillance cameras in the city with high-resolution equipment.

Rangers announce reward for tip-off

The Rangers have announced Rs 2.5 million bounty for a person who will provide information leading to arrest of the culprits involved in the attack.

The paramilitary force in a statement urged citizens to provide them any information leading to the attackers on their 1101 helpline via call or SMS. The identity of the person providing the information will be kept in secret, the statement said.
