Suspect Muhammad Waseem, brother of Qandeel, told investigators that his cousin Haq Nawaz had acquired a vehicle on rent from Dera Ghazi and was guarding the residence at the gate when the crime took place.
Police have also taken into custody two sister-in-laws of slain model to expand scope of investigation. The investigators are now searching for Qandeel’s cellphone which has been missing since her murder.

Qandeel’s brother had confessed to killing her and expressed no remorse for the crime. “I have no regret on what I did,” he bluntly told journalists when police produced him during the press briefing on July 16.
The suspect had strangled her sister on Friday night and then fled to Dera Ghazi Khan.
“We are respected people of Baloch cast. Qandeel’s videos making rounds on social media could not be tolerated, hence I myself decided to kill her. I am not ashamed of my act,” he said.
