Protesters move towards PM House despite police resistance

ISLAMABAD: The workers and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), reached the Pak Secretariat after running through the entire security layer in a renewed clash this morning, ARY News reported.

Police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and resorted to baton-charge on protesters.

At least five of the workers were injured in the assault by police. The protesters moved beyond the Pak Secretariat area and treaded towards the PM House. DIG and SP Islamabad also sustained injuries in the clash.

A large number of participants of Azadi March and Inqilaab March gathered outside the Secretariat Gate. Incensed protester, facing police resistance, set ablaze a container placed on way to the PM House.

After being hit with shells and rubber bullets, the protesters also pelted the police with stones.

The injured protesters were moved to nearby hospitals, while many of the demonstrators tried to remove the hurdles place along the artery to march on the PM House.
