Police nabs key suspect of Edhi Centre robbery

KARACHI: The prime suspect of the Edhi Centre robbery was arrested in Karachi on Saturday, ARY News reports.

The suspect, identified as Mazhar alias Akku, was nabbed from Zaman Town area of Korangi. He was wanted to the police for several dacoity offences. Police stated that local and foreign currency was recovered from the arrested man.

He has been shifted to an unknown location for investigation.

Police is carrying out raids in different parts of the city for the arrest of the accomplices of the suspect.

It should be noted that several robbers stormed Edhi Centre in Meethadar area of Karachi and fled with five kilograms of gold and Rs. 50 million after making renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi and the staff hostage.
