Police raid Lyari criminal dens, destroy and burnt hideouts

KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies have stepped up targeted operations against the outlaws in Karachi with demolition of criminal dens in Lyari, ARY News reported on Saturday.

Police contingents in a crackdown against Lyari gangs demolished scores of criminals’ dens and burnt them out.

According to officials, police conducted raids in Baghdadi, Chakiwara, Miran Naka, Singu Lane, Phoolpati Lane, Shahbaig Lane and Ali Mohammad Mohalla of Lyari and demolished and burnt the criminal dens.

The operatives of gangs fled from the area, officials said. The criminals will not be allowed to set in in the area, the officials vowed.

It is pertinent to mention that the Rangers have announced Saturday, the arrest of Uzair Baloch, the chief of the defunct People’s Aman Committee (PAC), a conglomerate of various gangs based in Lyari which remain involved in various criminal activities including killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom etc.
