Policeman among two shot dead in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Two people including a policeman were shot dead in different incidents of violence whereas law enforcement agencies arrested five suspected criminals in separate raids in Karachi, ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to details, a police constable named Iqbal Mehmood and three others were wounded when unknown gunmen opened fire near Aladdin Park. The wounded were rushed to a hospital, where the injured cop succumbed to his injuries.

The slain constable was posted in the investigation department at Ferozabad Police Station.

CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah telephoned IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja and ordered him to submit a detailed report of the shooting incident.

Target killers gunned down an estate agency owner named Abdul Rehman at Jamshed Road.

Rangers arrested three alleged members of a political party’s militant wing in separate raids at Malir and Clifton.

Meanwhile, Police took two Lyari gangsters into custody from Rizvia. The arrested persons are said to be members from Ghaffar Zikri group.

A suspected street criminal was arrested from Rizvia as well.
