Policeman injured in Karachi gun attack

KARACHI: Unidentified gunmen seriously injured a police official in a terrorist attack at Karachi’s Golimar bridge near Lasbela, ARY News reported on Friday.

Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Shakeel was going to court from Surjani police station when the terrorists opened fire at him. The policeman has been admitted at a local hospital.

Hospital doctors said the ASI has suffered two bullet wounds in his abdomen and he has been in serious condition.

Top police officials reached to the crime scene after the attack on ASI and gathered the evidence. A shell of a nine mm bullet also found from the spot.

SSP West Ghulam Asghar Mahesar has said that the evidence has been gathered from the crime scen. He said the ASI Shakeel was on duty and in police uniform when he was targeted by the criminals.

Karachi police again being targeted by the terrorists and other criminals.

A policeman Syed Zahid, was killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen at Karimabad bridge on March 29.

Provincial home minister Sohail Anwar Sial has ordered investigation of the attack on policeman.
