FAISALABAD: A bandit and a police officer were killed in an exchange of fire at Faisalabad’s Canal Road on Saturday night, ARY News reported.
Gunmen opened fire at the law enforcement personnel when they signalled their car to stop, resulting in the death of 45-year old constable Mohammad Ashraf while SHO Mazhar Irfan and Constable Ikram suffered bullet injuries.
An exchange of fire took place between the attackers and police party in which one of the gunmen was killed while his partner managed to escape on foot after abandoning his vehicle.
The slain shooter was identified as Waqas.
Police sources said that the perpetrator of the crime was involved in robbery and ransom cases.
