Policeman’s son suspect in PNS Dockyard attack

KARACHI: Authorities investigating the attack on PNS Dockyard on Saturday night have suspected the involvement of a policeman’s son, ARY News reported.

At least two militants were killed and four arrested when Pakistan Navy officials conducted a successful operation and thwarted the attack on Saturday night. Sources told that the militants used the sea route to barge their way into the PNS Dockyard at night.

A body of an ex-naval officer named Owais Jakhrani was found from the jurisdiction of Docks police station after the operation. Sources said that investigation was underway that how Jakhrani’s body reached the dockyards. The family of the deceased said he had left for Islamabad two days ago.

Sources informed that Jakhrani had contacts with banned terrorist organizations.

Earlier, Navy officials recovered cache of ammunitions including hand grenades, pistols and RPGs from the attackers.

Around eight hours of the operation, the dockyard was cleared by the Navy personnel.
