Polio immunization drive begins in high-risk Karachi UCs

In the second phase of the anti-polio campaign the health authorities have set a target to administer polio vaccine to 0.25 million children in high-risk localities of the city.

The health authorities have also claimed to provide foolproof security to the volunteers of the polio campaign which will continue for three days.

The health authorities have vowed to achieve 100 per cent target of the vaccination drive.

In a meeting, the staff working under the supervision of town health officers and World Health Organisation had informed that performance of teams in 11 UCs remained better as compared to past despite many difficulties.

They informed that polio drops were administrated to children with coordination of religious scholars, eminent citizens and social workers where administration of polio drops were not possible.
