Political jirga wants early end to govt-protesters deadlock

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of political jirga was held today at the residence of PPP leader Rehman Malik, in which the participating leaders deliberated upon various aspects to reconcile between the government and protesting forces in Islamabad, ARY News reported.

After the meeting, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq said all the stake holders concerned must hold talks in the national interest. He said issue of floods was also existing which needed to be addressed.

A single issue [Islamabad protest] has not resolved and other problems are now springing up,” said the JI leader with surprise. He added that leaders needed to change their style of governance.

Senator Rehman Malik said all the three stake holders must observe restraint. He said people were expecting resolution of the dispute. He said the three forces – PAT, PTI and the government – must again hold talks.
