Politics held hostage by ‘some elements’, says Siraj

LAHORE: Some elements within the country have held politics hostage for their own vested interest, says Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq.

Speaking to media after a meeting with Pir Pagara Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi, Siraj expressed that his party would strive for making Pakistan a welfare state.

He said no single person should be supreme in democratic rule.

Referring to his meeting with Mr. Pagara, who is president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, he said his party and PML-F hold similar views on various issues.

Both the leaders exchanged views on current political situation.

Speaking on the occasion, Pir Pagara hailed Siraj for playing key role in defusing political crisis.
