ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has decided to begin Population Census in the country on March 15th, next year.
The CCI in its meeting also decided that the house listing and census operation may be carried out in one go.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting also decided that the Population Census may be held in two phases and each phase may be carried out in all the provinces simultaneously.
The Council of Common Interests agreed that Census will be carried out in close coordination of provincial governments.
There will be a committee of secretary statistics and four chief secretaries to address all the implementation issues.
The meeting was attended by the chief ministers of provinces.
