Post-poll violence: Two ‘political activists’ killed in armed clash

According to ARY News, the clash erupted between two groups following bickering that later turned into an armed fight.

PTI’s candidate Rana Afnan had won the local government election from the area, while Rana Naveed of PML-N had lost the seat. Afnan was interacting his voters, when workers from both the sides traded barbs against each other and clash ensued.

Amid the armed clash, one activist lost his life on the spot, while the other breathed his last on way to hospital. Both of them are said to be associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has sought report of the incident from inspector general police and ordered him to immediately arrest the culprits.
