Karsaz attack: PPP announces three-day events from 16th Oct

KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will observe the ninth anniversary of the Karsaz attacks for three days starting from 16th October.

This decision was made during a meeting of the organising committee presided by Bilawal Bhutto.  The committee comprised of Senator Saeed Ghani, Najmi Alam, Waqar Mehdi and Rashid Rabbani, while the meeting was also attended by Nisar Khuhro and Muala Bux Chandio.

PPP will organise a rally on 16th October which will be led by Bilawal Bhutto.  The anniversary continue to be observed for three days. The government of Sindh will organise various events on 17th October, whereas recitations of the Holy Quran will be held on 18th October.

Around 180 people, mostly PPP followers, were killed and more than 500 were injured on 18th October 2007 after powerful explosions took place at a rally to welcome former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto-two months before she was assassinated in Rawalpindi.
