MULTAN: District administration of Multan has refused Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to stage a public meeting in the city over prevailing security situation, ARY News reported.

PPP had sought permission from Deputy Commissioner Multan Nadir Chattha to stage a rally at Qasim Bagh Cricket Stadium.

Additional deputy commissioner has stated that the district administration could not allow the party to hold the rally in the city due to the recent surge in the terror activities in the country.

Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was scheduled to address the rally in Multan. He will chair a consultation meeting regarding the party’s Multan rally at Bilawal House in Karachi today.

Former prime minister and PPP leader Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani had also paid a visit to Qasim Bagh Cricket Stadium few days ago to watch the arrangements of the party’s rally.

A wave of terrorist incidents has gripped the country with several attacks during the past couple of days.
