PESHAWAR: A traffic police warden on Tuesday fined a sitting member of provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Sahibzada Sanaullah for violating traffic rules, ARY News reported.

The Pakistan People’s Party MPA was talking on his mobile phone while driving when the traffic sergeant flagged him down and imposed a fine of Rs 500.

The MPA indulged in bickering for at least half an hour, arguing that he was a VIP and could not be fined.

He later said he was using his cellphone in emergency, however the traffic warden didn’t succumb to any resistance and handed a challan receipt to the MPA.

The warden responded that he was more concerned about safety of a driver, hence violating a rule will lead to fine.
