According to market sources, the tomato price saw an increase upto Rs. 50 after which the wholesale rate of the produce reached Rs. 150 per kilo.
The traders have blamed stopping the trucks transporting the vegetable from Lahore to Karachi and bad crop as key reasons for the price hike.
Tomatoes are being sold presently at Rs. 120 or more per kilogram in the market.
