The session was held online as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently in London and has had an open-heart surgery on Tuesday. The budget was approved in the session through a virtual nod by the premier for the first time in the history of the country.

The chief minister said that actual session of the NEC has not been held as yet. The remarks come just days before the government is set to present the annual budget in the National Assembly (NA).

Shah was rather discontented with the federal government and said he had requested Minister of Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, to address their concerns as well, but to vain. Shah said that he had complained about the attitude of the ministers in the session to the Prime Minister.

Sindh Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah lamented that Sindh has been neglected in the upcoming budget as out of the 201 uplift projects only six or seven schemes were meant for the province.
