The prisoner identified as Ghulam Mohammad had climbed on top of Multan District Jail’s water tank demanding the authorities to meet his girlfriend Misbah, which was also imprisoned in the jail over a murder charge. He demanded the jail authorities to send Misbah on top of the tank so he could meet her.
After failing to convince the authorities, the prisoner then attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself. The jail staff rescued the mad lover by cutting off the snare and brought him back to the ground in an unconscious condition.
He was rushed to the jail’s medical facility for medical treatment where his condition is said to be improving.
It should be noted that Ghulam and Misbah were sent to jail for murdering a car driver.
