TOP NEWS

Independent Power Producers (IPP) Advisory Council, in a letter written to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has demanded the government to pay Rs. 220 billion in respect of their arrears towards the government. It was stated in the letter that the power companies are unable to pay their bank and fuel supply dues.

Private power plant companies have said that they are facing problems in power generation due to lack of funds.

It should be noted that the current government had paid Rs. 480 billion to clear circular debt in the energy sector but the debt has returned to haunt the government who has to pay Rs. 300 billion debt in just a fiscal year.
