DUBAI: The drafting of the international players for the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 has been delayed, ARY News reported.

PSL Chairman Najam Sethi had earlier announced that the drafting for the final would be held on 22nd February. But now the drafting has been pushed back to 4th of March as the five franchises have asked more time from the PSL organizers, sources said.

The list of the international players for drafting will be finalized after the finalists are confirmed.

It is pertinent to mention here that the playoff stage of the league will conclude on 3rd March 2017.

PSL chief Najam Sethi had earlier said that the management has made “alternative plans” if international players would not be willing to visit Pakistan. He had stated that the two finalists would each have four international players in the climax match.

The PSL chief also said that international security experts will come to Pakistan before the final to review the security arrangements in Lahore.

“Players would be given ‘head of state’ level security along with insurance and additional match fee.”
