In a statement issued here, PTI Spokesperson Shireen Mazari said governor, alongside of his removal, should also be included in the investigation in view of Saulat Mirza’s revelations against the MQM.
She said governor’s role could be controversial in ensuring fair investigation into the revelations made by Mirza.
Death row convict Mirza, in a video message from Machh Jail, claimed that he had murdered then KESC chief Shahid Hameed in 1997 on ‘direct orders’ from MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
Mirza went on to allege that MQM had been using Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad to get their imprisoned ‘killers’ released.
The execution of Mirza was delayed for 72 hours through presidential orders. Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said Saulat Mirza’ s hanging had been delayed over health grounds.
Mirza had also sought delay in his execution, saying he could give some vital information to people ‘at the helm of affairs’ that will help bringing peace back in Karachi.
