PTI demands PTV to broadcast Imran’s address to nation on Sunday

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has demanded the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) to make arrangements for live broadcast of PTI chief Imran Khan’s address to the nation on Sunday, ARY News reported.

PTI chairman Imran Khan will address the nation at 4pm on Sunday. Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central information secretary Naeemul Haq issued a statement to the PTV, urging them to cover Khan’s telecast.

“PTV is a national asset and it is not meant for propagating for a single person or family. Alongside PM Nawaz Sharif and his family, every Pakistani has equal right on the state television channel.”

The PTI statement said the ruling party ministers misguided the nation on Panama leaks and also misinterpreted facts about Shaukat Khanum Hospital on PTV.

It may be noted here that the Press Information Department in Islamabad also allowed the PTI leader Naeemul Haq to hold a press conference at the PID building, which had the history of allowing only ruling parties to address pressers.

It was said to be the first time that the PID allowed an opposition party to hold a press briefing.
