PTI denied permission to stage rally at Mall Road

LAHORE: The government has refused to allow the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Charring Cross near Mall Road on Sunday 1st May, ARY News reported.

However, the PTI is adamant that the rally will be held at the venue, and have already started preparations for it. Today, it will also stage a rally from Liberty Market.

The government has said that permission cannot be provided over security reasons. There have been two rounds of negotiations between them but the deadlock still persists. The Lahore administration said that the PTI will be responsible in case of any untoward incident.

National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has also spoken against the rally, saying even traders and businessman of Mall Road are not in favour of the rally. He said that they will not allow the PTI to do the same damage to Lahore as it did in Islamabad.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will address the rally where he is expected to announce a further course of action as they force the Prime Minister to face accountability after revelation is Panama Papers.
