Sources said PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shereen Mazari and other leaders submitted a reference comprising 200 pages to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The speaker has assured the PTI leaders that action would be taken in accordance with law.
Media was not allowed while the PTI leaders were submitting the reference on which Qureshi and Mazari protested and said when reference was being filed against Chairman PTI Imran Khan then all the media was invited and media is not being allowed when they were filing reference.
Media was not allowed to access speaker’s chamber.
PTI had filed a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on June 24 to seek disqualification of the prime minister.
The 72-page reference filed said that the Nawaz Sharif did not furnish complete details of his assets and concealed them as revealed in the Panama Papers. Therefore, the premier was no longer ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’ (honest and righteous) as stated in Article 62 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
