Local traders of the Sitara market strongly protested over the killing. They burned tyres and demanded the police arrest the killers as soon as possible.

A large police contingent reached the site of the incident and started investigation. They recovered ammunition shells of the 30-bore pistol used in the incident, and took the deceased mobile phone into possession.
