PTI observes Day of Mourning today over workers' killing

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is observing a countrywide “Day of Mourning” over the killing of their two activists in Faisalabad, ARY News reports on Tuesday.

Two PTI activists identified as Sajid Hasnain and Haq Nawaz were killed when an armed person opened straight fires at the PTI workers during clashes with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) workers on Monday (yesterday). Twelve other party workers were also injured as well.

It was said that the armed person was the bodyguard of Punjab’s former Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s son-in-law.

However, Sanaullah has denied the claim.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has held the former provincial law minister responsible for the killing of his two party workers.

FIRs have been filed against 300 persons including State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, Rana Sanaullah and DCO Faisalabad over the killing of Tehreek-e-Insaf workers.

Several of the party activists were also wounded when police resorted to tear gas shelling after a crowd surrounded Sanaullah’s house and started pelting stones.

Funeral prayers in absentia:

Funeral prayers in absentia of slain PTI worker Haq Nawaz will be offered on Tuesday at Islamabad Express Highway at 03:00 P.M.

It should be noted that PTI activist Haq Nawaz was shot dead in clashes with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Faisalabad on Monday.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that the sacrifice of Nawaz will not go in vain.
