PTI watchful in all-out support for Rabbani

ISLAMABAD: While backing PPP’s Raza Rabbani as reputed man among other politicians, chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan still insisted that the ‘match’ between the government and the opposition to elect Senate chair was fixed, ARY News reported Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference here, Imran Khan said that Raza Rabbani bears good reputation, however we will observe his performance first and then make a decision in this regard.

He said that parliamentary democracy works as long as there exists a government and a opposition, while democracy is harmed when these two start conniving with each other.

The PTI chairman lamented that the Nawaz-league saved Asif Ali Zardari while the Supreme Court was hearing the Swiss accounts case against the former president.

“The nation does not want the politics of settlement anymore, it seeks something new out of politics”, he added.

The PTI chief once again called the parliamentarians for declaring their assets and tax returns.

He claimed 2015 to be the elections year and said that we are all set to sweep the polls countrywide.

Khan said that the case of three out of four constituencies he demanded has been referred to Nadra and as the authority announces its verdict [confirms irregularities], there will be no room left for the government to consult the apex court on the issue.

“It will be then that we will ask the government to form a judicial commission and if the government hesitated, we shall again take to streets”, he warned.
