PTI rejects increase in salaries, perks of parliamentarians

Imran-Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the proposed hike in salaries and other privileges of parliamentarians, ARY News reported.

According to details, PTI chief Imran Khan today presided a meeting of senior party members at his residence in Bani Gala here.

Later during a media briefing, PTI spokesman Naeem-ul-Haq and Ejaz Chaudhry announced that the party rejects the proposal of increase in salaries and perks of the lawmakers.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that they will inform the finance minister about the decision.

Commenting on US drone strike, he lamented days-long silence of the defence minister over the attack that violated Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Qureshi said that the party drive to mobilize masses will continue during the holy month of Ramazan, but there will be no rallies.

He said the PTI was serious in negotiating with the government on terms of reference (ToRs) of the Panama Papers probe, hoping that the committee would complete its work within due time.

Naeem-ul-Haq said that a report over the mistreatment of women at their rallies had been submitted to Imran khan and the details of it will be revealed tomorrow.
