PTI ‘turncoat’ wanted to join PPP before MQM, claims Alam

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi president Najmi Alam has claimed that the PTI candidate Amjad Ullah who joined the MQM hours before NA-245 by-elections was actually wanted to join PPP.

Talking to ARY News, Alam said Amjad had telephoned him a day ago and asked for a time to meet. Alam said he invited the ex-PTI man to his residence where the latter complained a lot about his party chief and mismanagement within their ranks.

According to Alam, the PTI candidate asked him to join PPP in exchange of financial benefits. The people’s party leader claimed that he replied in negative and stated that his party could not give him any financial mileage.

Today I heard that he has joined the MQM, said Alam.

He said his telephonic record could also be checked to ascertain the truth of his claims.
