ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Khan Swati has been arrested by Police in Islamabad on Saturday, ARY News reports.

Six other activists of PTI have also been nabbed by the police.

Inspector General Islamabad had warned Swati that he will arrest him along with his workers if they do not disperse.

The stand-off between the police and the workers of PTI became tense after the local magistrate sent the PTI sound engineer Asif Butt alias DJ Butt to Adiyala Jail on judicial remand.

The activists of PTI surrounded the police van and were not allowing the vehicles to leave the court premises.

PTI leader Dr. Arif Alvi had said that the party workers are being illegally sent to prison. He had warned the authorities to show the detailed verdict or the activists will break the doors of the prison vans.
