Punjab cabinet approves budget for FY2014-15

LAHORE: The provincial cabinet of Punjab has approved the budget for the fiscal year 2014-15, ARY News reported Friday.

The outlay of the Punjab budget is said to be over Rs 1 trillion. The province is expected to get Rs 902 billion through NFC Award. Around 10% increase in salaries of employees is also expected.

The government has allocated Rs 360 billion for development projects, while Rs 209 billion are earmarked for the ongoing uplift projects.

The government has estimated amount of Rs 670 billion for current expenditure. Sources informed that the government will allocate Rs 90 billion for law & order and security. They added that Rs 60 billion each will be allocated for health and education.

The allocation Rs 4 billion for laptop scheme, Rs 2 billion for Metro Bus project and Rs 31 billion for energy projects.
