Punjab government orders to observe Anti-Dengue Day

LAHORE: The Punjab government has directed all the district governments to observe anti-Dengue day on Saturday.

Punjab government has sent letters to all the district government to observe the day by organising walks and seminars. All the District Coordination Officers (DCOs) are conveyed to arrange awareness messages on local cable networks within their district/catchments areas. A dengue awareness campaign in both print and electronic media besides displaying banners carrying dengue awareness messages especially at the bus stops and railway stations and terminals.

In this regard, a special cleanliness campaign will be launched in all the official buildings including offices and schools all over Punjab for eradication and elimination of dengue. They will appoint a  focal person with a team for their assistance to ensure implementation of relevant instructions.

In this context, the government has instructed for round the clock dengue control counters and treatment centers which are already established in each hospital and shall be made functional at OPDs in akk medical hospitals. These treatment and facility centers should be manned with trained/experienced staff preferably one male and one female senior registrar.
