Punjab govt employees switch to ‘holiday mode’ three days ahead of Eid
Punjab government has issued notification of Eid holidays starting from Tuesday till Friday while most of its employees have already skipped work since Friday last.
Most of the Punjab government employees will enjoy ten days long Eid holidays after government has notified Eid holidays from Tuesday to Friday. Though the government has announced four official holidays yet most of the employees have already gone on French leave. Particularly the employees who are non-residents of Lahore and belong to far flung areas of the province have gone to their respective districts since Friday last. Now they will resume official duties on coming Monday after Eid.
Thin presence of employees was witnessed in the Civil Secretariat and its attached departments with little or no work at all at their disposal. Even most of the senior officers did not turn up to their offices on Monday and they were absent without leave. Many of the visitors who came Secretariat for the redressal of their complaints had to face hardships.
The skeleton staff of Civil Secretariat which attended offices on Monday also just marked their attendance and skived.
