Addressing a seminar in Lahore, Ahsan Iqbal said that $35 billion out of the $44 billion of CPEC were designated for the energy sector in which $11.5 billion was for Sindh, $7.1 billion for Balochistan while $6.9 billion was allocated for Punjab.

“Not right to label China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as China-Punjab Economic Corridor”, he said.

He refuted the rumors regarding the route change in CPEC and Chinese investment in the construction of Karachi to Lahore Motorway.

“The project is being completed on the basis of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT)”, he added.

The minister also said that the political stability and social harmony will attract foreign investment in the country.

“CPEC serves as a game-changer in the region”, Iqbal claimed.
