Punjab teachers protest against privatisation of schools enters second day

LAHORE: The Punjab Teachers Unions protest against impending privatization of government schools outside the Punjab Assembly has entered second day , ARY News reported.

The protests have entered their second day as the teacher spent the night on Mall Road.

Teachers including women from across the Punjab have joined the protest against supposed handing of schools to the private sector. They said that they will not move from here until their demands are met.

Yesterday, teachers draped in coffins to protest against the decision. At Charring Cross they removed and burnt posters of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

They said that they risk losing their jobs over the decision of the privatisation. They have not been approached by any government representative as yet.
