Qaim assures PM of extending Rangers powers

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has assured Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of extending ‘special powers’ to Rangers in Sindh, ARY News reported.

The assurance was given by the CM during a high-level meeting at Governor House in Karachi.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, the prime minister, DG ISI, and several civil and military high-ups made it to Karachi on Monday to attend a key meeting on law and order.

Sources informed that summary for extension in Rangers powers for another four months was lying at the chief minister’s table, however he is yet to give its approval.

The military leadership was also given briefing on law and order of the province. Inspector General Police informed that assailants involved in attacking police and Rangers personnel have been nabbed.
