Qandeel’s brother sent on three-day police remand

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A judicial magistrate in Multan handed Qandeel Baloch’s brother over to police custody on three-day physical remand on Sunday, ARY News reported.

The law enforcement agencies, who had arrested internet celebrity Qandeel Baloch’s brother Waseem from Dera Ghazi Khan on charges of murdering his own sister, produced the suspect before a local magistrate in Multan.

The police had asked for physical judicial and their plea was accepted by the magistrate.

Internet celebrity Qandeel Baloch was strangulated to death by her brother named Waseem in Multan on Saturday.

Qandeel Baloch, was known for posting videos on social media websites, was also married to a person named Aashiq Hussain, a native of Kot Addu, but got divorced. She had a son during the marriage.

Earlier, he confessed to killing her and expressed no remorse for the crime. “I have no regret on what I did,” he said.

“We are respected people of Baloch cast. Qandeel’s videos making rounds on social media could not be tolerated, hence I myself decided to kill her. I am not ashamed of my act,” he said.

Her family members were present at the time of burial in village Shah Sadruddin. A large number of people attended the funeral.
