Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrives Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Queen Maxima of the Netherlands reached Islamabad Tuesday morning on a three-day visit, ARY News reported.

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Marvi Memon received Queen Maxima at the airport.

It is the first visit of a Netherlands royal of Pakistan.

The Queen will meet President Mamnoon Hussain Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif besides other engagements with a range of stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

Queen Maxima in her capacity as the UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate (UNSGSA) for Inclusive Finance for Development 2016, encourages universal access for individuals and enterprises, at a reasonable cost, to a wide range of financial services, provided by diverse responsible and sustainable institutions.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also met the Queen on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January.
