Intelligence agencies arrest ‘on-duty’ RAW officer from Balochistan

QUETTA: The intelligence agencies today arrested a suspected ‘on-duty’ officer of Indian spy agency Research Analysis Wing (RAW) from Balochistan, ARY News reported.

According to security sources, a man has been arrested who is found to be currently-serving RAW officer. He has been moved to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Sources informed that further investigation is underway, while details of the arrest will be shared in days to come.

They told that security agencies had information about RAW activities and their support to insurgents to destabilize Pakistan through unrest in Balochistan.

Security sources are calling this arrest a ‘historic action’ to arrest on-duty RAW agent.

Talking to ARY News, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has confirmed the arrest of RAW officer.

He said interrogation was underway with the foreign spy. He said he was arrested following  a tip-off. “I congratulate the security forces for their successful raid.”

He said the arrest of RAW agent proved Indian involvement in creating law and order situation in Balochistan.
