Qureshi terms Multan stampede as conspiracy

ISLAMABAD: Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has called the Multan stampede as a conspiracy, ARY News reports.

Seven people were killed in a stampede that erupted during PTI’s rally at Qasim Bagh of Multan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, speaking in a press conference, said that the local administration was responsible for the security. He added that the stampede did not take place accidentally.

Qureshi further claimed that the administration deteriorated the situation on purpose.

The PTI leader said that the provincial rulers put PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s life in danger on purpose.

“The government should not play politics through Gullu Butts”, he said.

Qureshi had blamed District Coordination Officer (DCO) Multan for the unfortunate incident. He also said that seven party activists were killed by the stampede.

He said that Imran Khan will arrive in Multan on Sunday to pay his condolences to the families of the deceased.
