In his address with the Youth Parliament, Rabbani said that the accountability of the politicians, bureaucrats and armed forces should be conducted by a single body in the country.
“The process of accountability should be carried out across the board without any discrimination,” he said.
He also suggested that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) be made independent institutions after taking into consideration and evaluating in detail the laws which regulate them.
The Senate chairman further said that in order to come out of the current political crisis the recommendations in a letter written by the chief justice should acted upon and the parliamentary committee on national security should be restored.
